The Ugly: More Proof that Beauty is only Skin Deep

lol, this caught my eye yesterday but I didn't go past the headline. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic!!

I can see that the whole post was done to give publicity to the USO hosts. But as it was ghost-written, one would think the controversial stuff would have been omitted. Talk about the dogs, yeah, maybe. And of course the men would have been nice to her. But the jail cells? Who couldn’t have foreseen that that would be a problem?
I read this article and I was able to see the original comment, which mainly deal with the question of why do we still have beauty contests in this day and age.

Looking at the picture of this woman, you can tell from just looking at her than she's a vacuous airhead, with that "deer in the headlights" expression on her face.
...uhhhhh
Beauty is only skin deep but stupidity goes right to the bone.
I so need to remember this quote!
That is hilarious, beauty may be fleeting but stupidity is for life and something tells me that Miss Guantanamo Bay isn't going to be winning any prizes for intelligence anytime soon. I suspect she'd have found the place slightly less 'relaxing and beautiful' if on arrival she'd been put in an orange jumpsuit and escorted to the 'questioning suite' to be stomped on and spat at by soldiers before being shoved into a small cell for the next 8 months with no idea when or if she'd be able to leave. Still, I don't suppose there's room for a thought that complex in her tiny, little mind. Not when thoughts of false eyelashes and shades of eye shadow are taking up so much precious space in there...
I wish I was that bewdyful
This woman's a moron.
An IQ-test doesn´t seem to be part of the Miss World-Competition! If she really wrote this, Ms. Mendoza should make a visit to Amnesty International or other human rights-organizations to get the right impression of Guantanamo: This isn´t a nice beach, this is a place of shame!
my sentiments exactly, cat!
hey Jack - i thought, "dog, cool" - and then i started thinking about what they were trained to do there and what they might have done at the behest of the humans, and that's why i put that bit in bold as well - and, yeah - the Pageant's PR people really screwed up here
hence, why i normally would never pay any attention to any story concerning "beauty" pageants

she probably practiced that smile in front of the mirror a million times just to get it right - too bad she doesn't seem to have exercised her intellect
lol! - yeah - that was my first reaction
oooh - good one - that's a keeper!
plus, to be henceforth known an "Miss Guantanamo Bay" - yup, that's going to be rough...yeah...i did try to dredge up some sympathy for her - but then decided to write this post instead - perhaps some sympathy for the less fortunate in terms of intellect might be in order here - yeah...that's not happening either
Why would she practice to look like that? She looks one step away from drooling.
i just want the tiara - don't you know, EVERY girl wants to be a Princess!
hello:)

in short, yes, she is a moron of the 1st order - least of all to have allowed herself to be a PR puppet for Gitmo
Like, srsly?!
I don't know what to say, lol
Jack seems to think it was ghost written - and perhaps it was - regardless, big mistake - i expect they will work overtime to clean this mess up - time to visit poor brown people in underdeveloped countries and hug AIDS babies...
wow - i just another look - it's really horrid - i think it's called, "No One is At Home"
The stories I can tell you … and I see what you mean about ‘nice demonstration of their skills’. Ironical, too, that Vox has been promoting a National Geographic documentary about Guantanamo Bay this week—or maybe Mendoza was part of that promotion?
Vicola—I suspect she won’t ever live down ‘Miss Guantanamo Bay’. I still think of Vanessa Williams as the ‘dethroned Miss America’ rather than the first African–American Miss America.

"We live on a hunk of rock and metal that circles a humdrum star that is one of 400 billion other stars that make up the Milky Way Galaxy which is one of billions of other galaxies which make up a universe which may be one of a very large number, perhaps an infinite number, of other universes. That is a perspective on human life and our culture that is well worth pondering." -- Carl Sagan
