What I have been listening to non-stop for the past few days...

I'm not into scores, but as far as addictive songs that get put on repeat for a month or more...good to know I'm not the only one :)
Great music to listen to while on the treadmill. BTW- I am one of thosepeople too, who hears a new song and has to own it. Nothing like music to my mind. : )

You can has song! *dances with Paikea*

I agree with Patricia on music and exercise. OMG! I might get back to the gym after all. I even did my toning exercise to music. I'm a lot older, so my motivational music would be different, of course. *pops in a Steppenwolf cd and *heads out on the highway*!

[this is good]
Oh, I love movie scores (good ones, lol)! You know the LOTR soundtracks? There are extended versions of those! 4 discs! WANT! Hehe. Shrek is another good one. Chronicles of Narnia. Looney Tunes: Back in Action (for something silly). Tarzan! (To name a few)
And then there are the Broadway soundtracks...
Great score :)
A beautiful track Paikea.

It was a surprisingly good movie too
no, you're not the only one:) - well, i've had a few songs of late that i've put on the neverending loop - there's that song which is the beginning credits to the show, Cold Case - it's called Nara - by a group called E.S. Posthumous - they do a lot of the theme music for tv and movies - or their compositions just happen to get used - i think i have Nara uploaded into VOX - if i don't', i load it and you can have a listen - it's a cool track - and there's that Let Go song by Frou Frou (Imogen Heap) which i couldn't stop listening to a couple of years ago (might be in my audios also) - the score to the Sci-Fi Channel's mini-series, The Children of Dune - freakin brilliant! - i remember way back when, one of the 1st pieces i couldn't stop listening to was Man in Motion - St. Elmo's Fire! - then there was Sting's Why Should I Cry for You - awesome! - ah music - i couldn't live without it!
oh yeah, totally - good working-out music - and, put on a constant loop - writing music - for sci-fi :) - do you have music you write to? or does it have to be silent?
oooh - yeah - have the Chronicales of Narnia score - had to have that as soon as i saw that - OF COURSE - i love the LOTR scores! - in LA, a few months before we movid here, we went to the Hollywood Bowl to hear the LA Symphony play Harry Potter and LOTR, then after the last one came out, there was this AWESOME concert - the same week the movie premier was here in Welly - NZSO - and Howard Shore and Viggo! - up on stage - two rows from me!!!! - singing his bit at the end!!!! - *sigh* - could not have been more surreal - music - the great equalizer
heh - *dancing crazy with Carlisa* to Steppenwolf - that band falls in the category of bands whose songs i've heard a million times, but had no idea they were Steppenwolf - i liiiike them! - must get some in my mp3 player - well, i like to put music on while i work out to forget that i'm working out (and have to) - when i was in college, i worked out for fun! - now, i put on anything that will put me into "the trance" - i'll listen to anything from Ace of Base to The Police to the soundtrack to The Last Starfighter to Sibelius 2nd Symphony to get my mind off working out - luckily i have a really wide music enjoyment range (it comes to a screeching end at Country and Christian Rock though)

still listening....

heh heh
glad you liked it, petermcc:) - some music sends chills down my spine! - yes, i highly enjoyed the movie - i loved the Transformers cartoons when i was a kid, and i had the toys (well i stole my brother's - for some reason, HE go them as presents!) - i felt myself almost tearing up when Optimus Prime appeared - sad - but it was totally awesome seeing them up there on the big screen - i love sci-fi

do you have music you write to? or does it have to be silent?

At one point in this last manuscript, I was listening to music everyday, in order to be inspired. It was music that had to do with my subject. I don't ordinarily listen to music, though. I now have gotten so disciplined in my writing that it has to be silent, so I can hear myself think.

But, having said that, I cannot cook unless I'm listening to music.

I am sure you are :-)
Very cool tracks! I really, REALLY need to get an ipod.
hey Patricia - there's this track in my VOX Jukebox on the side - called Rue Sibelius by Martin Tillman - it's a beautiful cello track - and another one called Odessa - i found the CD these pieces came from after watching Ali - they were on the soundtrack - i put them together on a loop and for 5 hours, i hammered out a few chapters of one of my books - while writing, i can't listen to songs with words - and i have to listen to very familiar instrumental things - over and over again - puts my brain into a trance, i think - i also must listen to music while doing the dishes:) - i have a transmitter set - i plug the transmitter into my computer and crank 80's and then wear the receiver headphones - makes doing dishes almost fun:)
i love my mp3 player - i'm going to upgrade to another one soon - ooooh - here it is! - i can't wait!!!! - that, combined with my sound-reduction headphones - all i need on planes, trains, and in bed while Steven is snoring like a train:)

No, country music isn't a good choice for working out. One of my favorite workout tapes was "The Fabulous Thunderbirds" but they're a combo of blues/rock. I just learned, as I did a search, Stevie Ray's older brother Jimmie Vaughn, formed this band. Wow!

!!!!! COOL!
huh - i do like the Fabulous Thunderbirds - haven't heard them in a long time - thanks:) - more songs to add!

I think you're right about music helping us concentrate. They did a study on that- children listening to certain types of music whilst doing homework concentrating better.

And I agree that doing dishes needs all the help it can get to make it fun. I listen to music for all sorts of household chores.

That is a perspective on human life and our culture that is well worth pondering." -- Carl Sagan
